What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

Google Picasa is still a much better editing tool, but it lacks compress. I only used Picture Manager for Compress - the feature left out of Photo Gallery.

Removing functionality is hardly a small change. Good customer service does not belittle customers needs.

You might never look back at picture manager if you download this program. It's free from Sony, includes online storage of your stuff, and it allows you to "Throw" or sling your pictures to your Smart TV with DNLA network. I was surprised it took absolutely no setup It just worked. Hope Microsoft doesn't buy Sony and mess their stuff up.........

Does this program allow for batch changes? The main reason many people want to keep picture manager is that is had a very special ability that most do not which is to change the properties for large groups of pictures at once. I have yet to find another program that does this as quickly and easily as picture manager does. I'm not interested in saving to cloud or transferring across devices, I just want batch processing.

As others mentioned just use the sharepoint 2010 installation or do a custom office 2010 install and only select picture manager
