Shop around. Picture Manager ain't coming back. No way, no how said the Wizard of Redmond.
That GIMP help for batch file processing was a headache for me. I'm not interested in going back to command lines when I don't have to. Most of the links that came up in your google search were for paid products. I think only 1 out of the top 5 was a

Picture Manager might not be coming back but it still works fine for what I need and as its available in a free download as part of Sharepoint I might as well keep using it. If anyone suggests another product name that can do a batch job as "quickly and
easily" (I think you missed out those words when suggesting GIMP batch :-)) and for free then I'll look into it.
