What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    I just updated? to 8.1 and Office 2013.  Pictures are a very important part of my business and have come to love Office Picture Manager.  I hate updating just for this reason.  Why is it always 2 steps forward and 1 back?  This blows! 

    Give us Office Picture Manager back!!!!!!

    Well if customer service is something you are interested, its definitely time to move on from Microsoft!

    Here are some alternatives for as little as $0.00.

    Gimp is an open source product as powerful as the Adopie Photoshop for $300.00

    Shop around.   Picture Manager ain't coming back.  No way, no how said the Wizard of Redmond.

    That GIMP help for batch file processing was a headache for me.  I'm not interested in going back to command lines when I don't have to.  Most of the links that came up in your google search were for paid products.  I think only 1 out of the top 5 was a free one and it didn't look as good as Picture Manager.

    Picture Manager might not be coming back but it still works fine for what I need and as its available in a free download as part of Sharepoint I might as well keep using it.   If anyone suggests another product name that can do a batch job as "quickly and easily" (I think you missed out those words when suggesting GIMP batch :-)) and for free then I'll look into it.
