What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    NO PICTURE MANAGER!!!!!

    I am so sorry that I upgraded and wish I could go back to 2007.  I see no advantages and a major disadvantage that I lost Picture Manager.  No longer can I quickly rename multiple files, quickly crop pictures, etc.

    Do you people even use microsoft office before you inflict it upon us?

    I found no "smiley" in the top tool bar.  I think removing Picture Manager is a huge mistake.  I have tried to work with photos in Word and as far as I am concerned it is totally inconvenient.  It seems several unnecessary steps when I don't want to write a document.  I only want to go to my photos and work with them where they are stored.  That seems reasonable and logical to me.  I am very disappointed.  Making changes for the sake of changes is not beneficial to your customers.

    Picture Manager totally rocked.  I frequently used it to convert images from one format to another.  Especially helpful in converting bitmaps from screenshots to GIF or JPG format.  The size reduction went from 7MB to 70KB.  Making uploading to a website a snap.

    This is an essential tool that I need to use on a regular basis.,

    Ugh.

    I used it the same way on a regular basis.  But, it was also my regular picture viewer and photo editor.  I keep all my digital photos on my computer and, immediately after downloading from my camera storage, I would routinely crop or adjust the lighting or eliminate red-eye from flash shots.  It was so quick and easy at lots of different things.  I still have PM on my home laptops.  I was planning to get a new laptop with Office 2013 but now I don't think I will be doing that.  At work, they upgraded my PC to 2013 when they upgraded the OS to W7.  I'm going to roll back to Office 2010.
