What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Dana, It is shameful of Microsoft to create an Insider program to obtain the opinions of its "valued" users and then disregard them. This is a fine example of a corporate monster benefitting from its customers then giving them the "two fingers" without any explanation. Customers must realise now that Windows 10 has been developed and provided for free with a view to recouping their investment later! This means that existing customers must exercise caution when using it and in particular maintain strict control over your files. Cloud storage Microsoft style is literally "pie in the sky" until the day comes when they start charging for the service. Don't for forget, Microsoft have a massively bloated salary bill to pay and customers have to pay at some point. Additionally Microsoft look enviably at the Apple business model and yearn to compete with them (no chance) so corporate egos will be keen to pounce on us customers at the earliest opportunity. This is a cynical view but my only explanation for Microsofts poor customer service regarding office picture manager.

    my office laptop has just been given Windows 8 and Office 2013 so I'm just discovering the joys of what's missing.

    I've found some of the editing tools in 'Photos', but the single most useful feature of Picture Manager was the ability to rename files in bulk either in part or in full, while applying sequence numbers.  I can't find any way to do that in the 'new' (to me!) software.  Any ideas?

    It is sad to say but MS did / does know how important that program was/is ... they don't care about the end user ... the other changes made to the 2008 OS and 2010 ... was designed to data-mine ... gather your info ... sell it and give you the very minimum you need and force you to purchase other needed applications ... they simply can't compete w/ Apple ... which MS before Windows 8 was such a great product for people who actually worked for a living and also for people who "dabbled" ... their product was superior and now it is garbage and it makes me sick.  These are my opinions only ....  I can't wait to switch to ALL APPLE or ANY OTHER PRODUCT ..... the future is not MS....   although they know sooooo much about you already ... they don't care ... they just care about selling you to others as far as I'm concerned.  They truly should be ashamed of themselves!
