What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    I got it back... the following UL will give you the proper steps. I'm glad I got it back... Microsoft's only reason to not include it was that they didn't update the look of it to be the same as the current suite. I feel that's a pretty lame excuse not to include such an important piece of software!

    I am also very sad when I realised there is no Picture Manager. It was really quick tool for resize picture for icon on many forums and also a quick tool to make many pictures smaller for sending via e-mail for example.

    I have now turned on Live version and there is also resize option, but I did not find the "make smaller (how to say it... I meam from 2.3MB 500kB for example) option" :(

    I agree, this is the option that I really love with Picture Manager, I can save a lot of space by resizing photos while keeping it still in a good quality yet a huge decrease is file size.  It is also very easy to resize same dimension photos in batch, saves a lot of time!

    It is a very bad decision for Microsoft to remove this useful tool in 2013 package.

    I hope they can still put it back if they will release a service pack or any other way.

    I fixed this omission by installing a 3rd HDD with Win7 on a dual boot with Win8 and installed the previous version of Office onto this drive. Now I am quiet happily using Win 7 With Office as it was and when it worked with all the tolls which worked with Win XP and other legacy programs. If one is as old as I am and recalls what happened to Lotus 123 and Word perfect Microsoft seems to **** bent on repeating the mistakes which these 2 made in the early 1990's.
