What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use.  I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

You can get the SharePoint Installer from this post:

The short version is to run the installer.  

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".  

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

    Verily, verily.

    Office picture Manager was much user friendly as well as faster loading and editing. Photo Gallery doesn't do all the things that OPM will do either. I'm looking for an alternative. Sounds like even if you have a copy of OPM from Office 2010 you cannot install it without uninstalling Office 365 first and then having to redo the whole thing. Boo on MS for dropping this very easy to use app.

    I agree, kmadley.  I liked using Windows Live Photo Gallery as a second option for some things that I couldn't do with Picture Manager, but MUCH preferred having the quick, good options that Picture Manager offered as my default program.  Very disappointing.

    For the umpteenth time. Read back through this discussion. I have already posted instructions on how to get a "free" copy of Picture manager if you don't already have it.

    But since you had a copy of 2010, you are still allowed to install just picture manager from that license. The 2013 license does NOT remove your right to continue to run 2010 apps.

    Doesn't work for those of us on Corporate Systems, we can't install anything, so please stop ranting that you gave us an option to get a "free" copy of picture manager.

    Come on MS, give us back Picture Manager, as Companies with IT departments won't let us install it unless its part of the latest version!
