What replaces office picture manager in office 2013?

The Office Picture Manager has been a very quick and easy tool to use, built into Office and readily available no matter what machine I have to use. I would rather not have to install 3rd party software to do what MS has made easy to do in the past.

Any word on what this app is called now and where it's hidden in the Office 2013 install?

The best workaround I've found is to use the free SharePoint Designer 2010 to bootstrap the MS Office Picture Manager.

The short version is to run the installer.

Then choose "Customize" instead of "Install Now".

Then deselect everything that's not "Office Tools" > "Microsoft Office Picture Manager"

Hey John,

You are correct that Office Picture Manager was removed from the suite. Inside programs such as PowerPoint and Word there are still editing tools. You also have Windows Live Photo Gallery which I feel is a much more program specific picture editing tool. Hopefully the small change does not effect your trial of the Next Microsoft Office.

I am also very sad when I realised there is no Picture Manager. It was really quick tool for resize picture for icon on many forums and also a quick tool to make many pictures smaller for sending via e-mail for example.

I have now turned on Live version and there is also resize option, but I did not find the "make smaller (how to say it... I meam from 2.3MB 500kB for example) option" :(

Same here - I need to be able to resize for different applications (web, tv, large flatform screens) and Picture Manager was my go to so I could get really specific on percentage. Now I am digging around to find a better alternative than borrowing my co-workers computer that still has an older OS.

You cannot size a picture anymore. I may have to pull out my Office 2007 file and reinstall.

I too was frustrated with the removal of Microsoft Office Picture Manager being deleted from Office 13. However I found a fix for this.

I have the Microsoft Office 2007 Student addition which includes MOPM. I love using MOPM for cropping and compressing photos quickly and easily. I did not see where any of the other softwares provided within the Microsoft Office 13 has the option for compressing photos anyway I loaded the DVD from my Student addition and loaded only the Microsoft Office Picture Manager. At first I had a problem receiving an error message that the DVD was missing a file but I then went to Microsoft's website and downloaded it from there and had no problem.

I'm sooooo happy I figured this out. Won't help those that do not have a license for the software but if you do you can download Microsoft Picture Manager only.
