exporting contacts FROM Outlook 365

I've worked as a computer consultant for 20 years. I have to say that Office 365 is the LEAST user friendly product I've ever seen. Impossible to do do simply things that in other products are intuitive. Right now I'm trying to export my contact list. When I search on this topic all the examples say something like go to OUTLOOK -> FILE --> OPTIONS --> ADVANCED.   After an hour of searching I dont find anything in outlook that says file . I find options but not Advanced and nothing else that leads to exporting

Hi Steve,

I will assist you with the query you have in exporting contacts from Outlook 365.

You may follow the steps below to Export the Outlook contacts:

Open Outlook, click File, Open and export and then click Export to a file.

Once you are in the import\Export window follow the on screen instructions to export the items from Outlook.

If you want to import the data into Outlook, then you may refer to the direction mentioned in the link below:

Note: Instead of Import, you need to look for the Export option in the above link.

    GregMustin,

    Hopefully this will help you.  I ran into this problem literally abut two hours ago. 

    According to my handy-dandy sysadmin, MS Outlook syncs to the cloud (Office 365) so any contacts you add or currently have on your OWA (cloud) list will appear on the Contacts tab on your Outlook application and not necessarily on your Address book. 

    If your contacts are added on OWA, they will almost immediately appear on your Contacts tab on MS Outlook.  After that, you may then export the csv file from MS Outlook and distribute it to your partners

    I was able to successfully test it using Office13 but I'm sure that Office 10 should have the same capabilities.

    I think I found the answer your web base 365, exporting and importing.

     Since it is a web base, there is no need to export or import to a new or another computer. If you go to www.outlook.com and sign in,  your information and data is still there. I think microsoft made it too simple that people make it difficult. I you don't believe me then go to outlook . com and sign in with a different computer/ tablet/ laptop and your data is still there.

    Unfortunately, that solution does not work for my purposes because I need to export my contacts to give to other colleagues, who will using the same contacts list after I leave my position in a few months, in digital format for importing and as a printed copy for files. It would be an incredible pain for them to enter all of that manual. Likewise, I'm not going to allow them access to my email accounts for privacy. I looked on a few other forums and the consensus is that the Exporting Function is not compatible with web-based Outlook 365. I just want to make a file that I can transfer or even a simple Excel sheet. Unfortunately, it seems Microsoft is employing the concept of Planned Obsolescence, forcing people to go with the Desktop version.
