exporting contacts FROM Outlook 365

I've worked as a computer consultant for 20 years. I have to say that Office 365 is the LEAST user friendly product I've ever seen. Impossible to do do simply things that in other products are intuitive. Right now I'm trying to export my contact list. When I search on this topic all the examples say something like go to OUTLOOK -> FILE --> OPTIONS --> ADVANCED.   After an hour of searching I dont find anything in outlook that says file . I find options but not Advanced and nothing else that leads to exporting

Hi Steve,

I will assist you with the query you have in exporting contacts from Outlook 365.

You may follow the steps below to Export the Outlook contacts:

Open Outlook, click File, Open and export and then click Export to a file.

Once you are in the import\Export window follow the on screen instructions to export the items from Outlook.

If you want to import the data into Outlook, then you may refer to the direction mentioned in the link below:

Note: Instead of Import, you need to look for the Export option in the above link.

    Do you find the information from the ‘File’ tab if you use Alt+F key?

    There is no "File" tab on my version of Outlook. How do I use the ribbon to export files?

    There is no "File" tab anywhere in Outlook. All there is is a ribbon that has absolutely no information on how to export anything.

    Not sure why you think it's so complicated to transfer data.

    Firstly, if the new version of Outlook is on the same machine, then it should find the old pst file automatically.

    If the new version of Outlook is on a different machine, DO NOT USE EXPORT. Just COPY the pst file to the new computer and in Outlook do File>Open.

    It's as easy as that.
