exporting contacts FROM Outlook 365

I've worked as a computer consultant for 20 years. I have to say that Office 365 is the LEAST user friendly product I've ever seen. Impossible to do do simply things that in other products are intuitive. Right now I'm trying to export my contact list. When I search on this topic all the examples say something like go to OUTLOOK -> FILE --> OPTIONS --> ADVANCED.   After an hour of searching I dont find anything in outlook that says file . I find options but not Advanced and nothing else that leads to exporting

Hi Steve,

I will assist you with the query you have in exporting contacts from Outlook 365.

You may follow the steps below to Export the Outlook contacts:

Open Outlook, click File, Open and export and then click Export to a file.

Once you are in the import\Export window follow the on screen instructions to export the items from Outlook.

If you want to import the data into Outlook, then you may refer to the direction mentioned in the link below:

Note: Instead of Import, you need to look for the Export option in the above link.

    Here's a response by a Support Moderator over a year ago:

    "Are you asking about how to export all of the Office 365 users’ contacts into an individual file? If this is what you are asking, Office 365 doesn’t have a feature to support this."

    steveshore- have you had any luck with this? I'm trying to export my contact list from Outlook 365 and apparently it is impossible... I agree that the Microsoft support team isn't helpful!

    Something like this just shows why Google For Work and Apple are gaining so much in the market place. I'm a specialist on both O365 and GFW and I go with Google every single time, simple things like changing passwords to what you want or at least having control over everything.

    microst as always complicate everything to make money from training and exams...

    the only way to export from office 365 is to use 3rd party apps or download to a client like outlook or airmail for Mac... Mac mail will also allow extraction but placing the contacts into the contacts app to which you can export in to several formats.

    you could also try Mail on Win8 this also allows export and like Mac is free... But doesn't always work well.

    microsoft you really need to pull your socks up people have had enough...

    I can certainly relate Brandon. We just changed over email hosting to a local server and the administrator made it where Outlook 356 desktop client will NEVER connect to Microsoft for email and since it has synced to the new local server it is like starting from scratch with no previous emails or contacts. So the ONLY way I can get previous emails and contacts is from Outlook 365 Web App through Internet Explorer. There are a dozen or so people here that are in the same boat. Now I am trying to export my mail and/or contacts from only within the Outlook 365 Web App because any desktop app would NEVER connect to my Web App for me to download the emails or contacts.

    Hopefully there is a solution or workaround for this otherwise a whole year's worth of emails and contacts will be gone. Oh, BTW we are discontinuing service with Microsoft Exchange by the end of this month so if I don't get back ever.
