I believe there a plenty of Microsoft shills posting on this and similar relevant forums in an underhanded attempt to downplay the blurry text issue.
"Providing confident 'this will fix it' tweaks" which make absolutely no difference, is just one of the many tactics they use.
Hey geek:
Since I'm one of the accused shills l will reply to your "observation".
If you read through my history you'll see that I am anything other than a MS shill, even with a MVP. Since I was lucky enough to not encounter the problem I cannot report on a fix that worked for me personally.
BUT EVERY fix I suggest does not come from MS, they come from other users who have posted the problem on this forum and
CONFIRMED that the fix worked for them.
The issue is that Office 365 (especially on Windows 8) represents a massive set of new program code. Word 2013 is using a new "display engine" that has caused some other new issues. We have seen confirmed reports that different "fixes" have solved the
problem for various users so apparently the problem is being generated in more than one way, in more than one place.
On the other hand, I do concede there are a few posters who I also consider shills <grin> <sigh>
