MS Word 2013 stops working with The Dragon Naturally Speaking version 12

Have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windws 8 and have thereafter installed the Office 2013 trial version on my HP Pavilion dv7 laptop. The Dragon Naturally Speaking version 12 works with MS Outlook as well as MS Excel however whenever I attempt to open MS Word i get a response Microsoft Word has stopped working: A problem caused te program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Please help me or inform me how long shall it take to provide the solution.

I shall try to assist you in related to your Word issue.

Verify if the ‘Dragon naturally speaking’ (Netspeak) add-in is enabled in Word application?

Try running the Word application as administrator by following the steps below

Right click on Word application and click ‘Run as admin’.

And follow the steps below to enable naturally speaking (add-in) in Word and check if it works fine.

Click on File, Options, Add-ins, and Click on ‘GO’ beside Manage – COM Add-ins and check the add-in option next to Netspeak and click OK

    This is the best, but also most elaborate solution I've found when it comes to stubborn Natspeak AddIns: 

    1. If you have an extensive DNS user profile and you'd prefer to keep it, you can either export your entire user profile (Profile>Manage user profiles>Select the relevant profile>Advanced>Export>provide a destination path. Import the profile afterwards using the same process but instead select Import. Or...
    2. Export your custom vocabulary only and create a new user profile later (Vocabulary>Export custom word and phrase list>provide a destination for the file with a unique name). Import the custom vocabulary using Import list of words or phrases. You can train the imported words/phrases by searching the Custom Words list in the Vocabulary Editor.
    3. Use the removal tool for Dragon 13. Click here to download. Any I.T. guys reading this, make sure your client has their DNS serial key close. Using this remover will remove DNS completely, including previous DNS versions. Beware - your user profile(s) will also be removed!
    4. Run an online repair on MS Office (remember to keep the MS Office serial key close by to reactivate if necessary).
    5. Install DNS by running Setup.exe as an Administrator from the disk or digital download and activate using the serial key. Dragon will attempt to create a new user profile after the new installation is complete.

    After working with Dragon for six years and some change from Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10 Preferred/Professional to present Premium/Professional/Individual versions, I've had my share of frustration with DNS and Office.

    It doesn't happen to everyone but occasionally the NatSpeak.exe AddIn for MS Word 2013/2016 is not activated. However, the fix that Raju has supplied does work. If that fails, see the following.

    Run Word as admin.  Dragon plug-in will load correctly every time.

    Microsoft Word 13 crashes after I run Dragon 13 Legal for awhile and then does so repeatedly.  My version of Word does not have the add-in that you discuss at all -- it is not an option when I go into Options.  Any other suggestions?

    There are two places you have to look in Word to get them all. The Dragon Add-In is almost certainly a .COM add-in.
