Publisher 2013 - Print and PDF Quality issue for embedded Excel.

I tried it. It doesn't work. Microsoft, on whatever page I downloaded the fix from, also states that it will not work on the Office 365 Home Premium Suite. I don't know if it is to do with having a Cloud based product instead of a standalone one.

I have decided, since Microsoft doesn't have a work around (I asked), to install Office 2011 as part of my 365 subscription on an ancient MacBook Pro and use the DTP view in Word.  My firmly entrenched Apple-loving Husband is making "I told you so!" noises.

I also downloaded PDF Xchange editor that also works but is a bit time consuming if I have a lot of PDFs in our newsletter.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like yet another strike against 'cloud computing' in my book. Wasn't this the whole reason to have the cloud based 365, so that the software could be upgraded and bug fixes could be fixed faster? <sigh>

Follow this directions and the quality of inserted pictures will improve:

In Publisher

1. Tools
2. Web Page Options
3. Web Site Options
4. Web
5. Mark the box "Allow PNG as a graphics format to improve graphics"

David, I have the same issue.

However, when I try to download and run the hotfix, I get a notification saying I don't have the product installed on my machine.

I have Office 2013 w/ Publisher 2013 (Professional) installed.  I have the 64-bit version and downloaded and tried to install.

The previous poster was using Office 365 to access Publisher. Today when I review the hotfix I see that Office 365 is not listed as one of the supported products: https://support.microsoft.com/kb/2760434?wa=wsignin1.0#appliesto

However it sounds like you are using Office Professional 2013 so it should apply. I don't have a good answer as to why the hotfix did not apply.

I followed the link to Technet blog http://blogs.technet.com/b/office_sustained_engineering/archive/2013/09/11/outlook-folder-pane-disappears-after-installing-september-2013-public-update.aspx looking for more information and found this suggestion:

"When you encounter trouble with a Public Update, you can always contact us at http://support.microsoft.com. You can call Microsoft directly at 1-866-234-6020"

While that page is talking about another related patch perhaps you could call and ask MS why KB2760434 does not work, and/or for any other fix for the 'pdf problem". If you get any relevant information, please post back.

Sorry that I don't have a better suggestion.
