Office 2013; office account signin feature 'disabled' after upgrade

I have just upgraded from Office 2010 Pro Plus to Office 2013 Pro Plus and none of the Office 2013 apps (including OneNote 2013) will connect to my skydrive account so I cannot access my OneNote notebooks and so on. I just see a window with the message 'This feature has been disabled by your administrator', however no group policy for Office or indeed anything else has been applied. What could be causing this failure?

Ok I resovled this issue but its a weird one and could be an issue with the upgrade from 2010.

I used procmon.exe to find out which reg keys outlook.exe was htting when I clicked the Sign In button (which triggered my issue) and found this was the key in question:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Internet:UseOnlineContent

UseOnlineContent was set to 0 (zero) and so I changed it to 1 (one) and after restarting my Office 2013 products I was able to sign in to Skydrive using them.

I hope this will be of help to anyone experiencing a similar problem.

    Hi,

    I don't seem to be able to find the Internet:UseOnlineContent key

    I have found the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\

    However, I haven't found Internet:UseOnlineContent

    I've looked in the "Common\Internet" folder and its two sub-folders "Server Cache" and "WebServiceCache"

    But haven't found the said key.

    Could you let me know if I am looking in the right place.

    Mine, not "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common"

    but "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common"

    change useonlinecotent then.

    How would I do this with Project 2013 connecting to Office 365, specifically when UseOnlineContent registry is already set to "2"?

    Raj,

    For me the key exists at the following location.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\policies\microsoft\office\common\Internet\UseOnlineContent

    My problem is whenever is set it to 0 to sync with onedrive every few minutes it automatically gets an override from group policy settings and the value goes back to 2 not allowing onedrive sync.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\office\common\Internet

    Then you will find UseOnlineContent else create one with the dword value 2

    There is no 

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\software\microsoft\office\common\Internet!UseOnlineContent

     I just used (!) to show that it needed to be inside the directory, sorry its not very clear
