Office 2013; office account signin feature 'disabled' after upgrade

I have just upgraded from Office 2010 Pro Plus to Office 2013 Pro Plus and none of the Office 2013 apps (including OneNote 2013) will connect to my skydrive account so I cannot access my OneNote notebooks and so on. I just see a window with the message 'This feature has been disabled by your administrator', however no group policy for Office or indeed anything else has been applied. What could be causing this failure?

Ok I resovled this issue but its a weird one and could be an issue with the upgrade from 2010.

I used procmon.exe to find out which reg keys outlook.exe was htting when I clicked the Sign In button (which triggered my issue) and found this was the key in question:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Internet:UseOnlineContent

UseOnlineContent was set to 0 (zero) and so I changed it to 1 (one) and after restarting my Office 2013 products I was able to sign in to Skydrive using them.

I hope this will be of help to anyone experiencing a similar problem.

    This worked for me too... signinoptions was set to 3 and I changed it to 1

    In case it's helpful context:

    I was confused because the 'free' OneNote app was signed in fine, but the Office 2013 version wouldn't give me the option.

    My work had installed Office Professional Plus 2013 on my laptop, but also have a 365 Pro Plus account via work. So I initially thought it was a problem between the two versions (my 365 Pro Plus version of OneNote had signed in fine on another machine). So I uninstalled the Professional Plus 2013 version, and installed Office 365. Still the same problem (no sign in option etc).  Only then did I dare go into the registry via Regedit and make the change.

    Bizarre that I have to do this sort of back-end fix on a Flagship Microsoft product...

    If thats the case you have to change the group policy or block it, if thats not working or possible, another annoying way to do it go to the registry and change it all the time. 

    TIP: create a shortcut for regedit, to the the registry location and add to favorite.
