Office 2013; office account signin feature 'disabled' after upgrade

I have just upgraded from Office 2010 Pro Plus to Office 2013 Pro Plus and none of the Office 2013 apps (including OneNote 2013) will connect to my skydrive account so I cannot access my OneNote notebooks and so on. I just see a window with the message 'This feature has been disabled by your administrator', however no group policy for Office or indeed anything else has been applied. What could be causing this failure?

Ok I resovled this issue but its a weird one and could be an issue with the upgrade from 2010.

I used procmon.exe to find out which reg keys outlook.exe was htting when I clicked the Sign In button (which triggered my issue) and found this was the key in question:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Internet:UseOnlineContent

UseOnlineContent was set to 0 (zero) and so I changed it to 1 (one) and after restarting my Office 2013 products I was able to sign in to Skydrive using them.

I hope this will be of help to anyone experiencing a similar problem.

    I had a somewhat of a similar experience.  I did not upgrade, but I did load Office plus 2013 off a fresh Win8 Enterprise install. When I opened OneNote fresh,  I had my company credentials already loaded in the account and was not able to sign-out (functionality removed).  I proceeded to copy over all my OneNote files manually (in my docs and the AppData info) and then opened up OneNote again. It showed all my locally stored and web-stored Notes, but my web-stored notes where not able to access SkyDrive.   When I attempted to access SkyDrive, the message I received was, "Administrator has removed this functionality" or something to that affect.   NEVER GIVE UP!!

    I found the following in Regedit:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\signin:signinoptions

    I changed the Value data from "3" to "1".  I closed out all office products and then opened up OneNote 2013 and was able to input other account login credentials to access my web based OneNote items.

    Win for me :)

    I've tried every solution in this thread to no avail. 

    Simple scenario, upgraded from 2010 to 2013, and suddenly cannot connect to skydrive notes due to the dreaded blocked by admin error.  yeah right.  try crushed and maimed by MS, as more accurate.

    I have three huge problems with this:

    1. that it happened at all
    2. that the solution is a reg hack
    3. that MS has not provided a real solution

    I'm extremely savvy when it comes to Windows, been a dev for years, and regedit is no big deal to me.  But man oh man, this is NOT a good solution for the average poor sap in his cube just trying to get through his work day, and WHAM, denied.  Given that I still cannot resolve this as an above average tech nerd, I believe MS needs to take a serious look at what they did and offer a real solution.

    Hi,

    I don't seem to be able to find the Internet:UseOnlineContent key

    I have found the folder HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\

    However, I haven't found Internet:UseOnlineContent

    I've looked in the "Common\Internet" folder and its two sub-folders "Server Cache" and "WebServiceCache"

    But haven't found the said key.

    Could you let me know if I am looking in the right place.
