Remember "Show tabs" setting in OneNote ribbon?

I have a question regarding permanently showing the ribbon tabs in full screen mode. In Office 2013, going into full screen mode means that everything is hidden, except for a very short horizontal bar across the top of the screen. To access anything on the ribbon, I have to click on this bar to show the ribbon first. If I want to pin the ribbon so that tabs are visible at all times in full screen mode, I have to click on this bar, click a menu button near the minimize button (also hidden in full screen), and then click Show Tabs. However, OneNote does not remember this setting. Thus, every time I exit full screen mode or restart OneNote and then reenter full screen mode, I have to re-pin the ribbon again.

How do I get OneNote to remember this setting permanently? It worked in OneNote 2010.

Hey all! OneNote engineer here :)

Update: This has been fixed in all standard Office 365 deployments with build 7766.2060. Simply update to enjoy!

Starting with Version 1701 Build 7766.2029 and later (see File=>Accounts to check your build number) OneNote 2016 O365 will remember any changes you make to the full screen mode ribbon settings both during and between sessions.

As of 1/30/2017 this is deployed to Insiders Fast and will be making its way to "Current Channel" production on 2/14. If you want this change now you can switch to "Insiders Fast" and you can switch back and fourth fairly easily.

    Is this just in the tablet mode ?   I too was having this issue with the desktop version and realized there is a way to do this I think.  If you click on HOME to drop the ribbon bar into view, on the far right part of the screen in that drop down ribbon, there is a tiny "pin" icon.  clicking this makes the ribbon bar stay in view.   I think this is what people are wanting.  ?

    Excellent workaround. I found it necessary to remove the text on line 7 after 2500 (including the semicolon). Otherwise great. Many thanks Meecrosoft!

    After a bit of mucking around, it looks like onenote doesn't read the registry value for the quick access toolbar during start up. Oddly however, it does write to it when you change the setting while onenote is open. 

    I denied set permissions for my own user account on the registry key:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Common\Toolbars\OneNote\QuickAccessToolbarStyleFPV

    This key is used to define what mode the ribbon and quick access toolbar in full page view (the view in question) are set to. The other DWORD 'QuickAccessToolbarStyle' is readduring start up and will determine how your ribbon is displayed when in "normal" view. 

    Even after setting the ribbon to display in full page view in the registry and denying permission to change it, it just ignores it completely and opens with everything hidden anyway.... extremely annoying. 

    I reckon this would take about 20 minutes for a programmer to change and only slightly longer for QA to make sure it works. 

    I'm a very heavy user of onenote and use it professionally, for my study, and for my personal diary/daily planner. This is a real oversight and although a 'minor' problem on it's own, becomes a major burden when using onenote heavily. 

    Can this please be changed already!

    I found the only way it remembers is to use "Normal View" instead of "Full Page View".
