Arrow keys don't work in slide view mode in powerpoint

My powerpoint used to work fine but recently I am unable to advance or move my slides backwards in the Slide view mode with arrow keys, space bar and return.  Nothing seems to work.  I cannot even exit the presentation with the ESC key.  I need to use the cursor to exit presentation.  Because of this situation, I cannot use the remote control to advance my slides.  PLS HELP!!!

I have fixed the problem on my side following these steps:

  • Open the "Slide show" tab in the ribbon
  • Click on "Set Up Slide Show"
  • Make sure that following options are selected "Show type" = presented by the speaker (full screen) and "Advance slides" = manually

    Check if the issue is only with one PPT side.

    If it is with all the sildes, try resetting the powerpoint preferences?

    Same with me.

    All worked perfectly, then this problem occurred.

    I noticed, that all presentations start "normal", then after a few minutes, the keyboard stops working.

    When I end up the presentation and start it again, the keyboard is back, but only for a few minutes..

    I was searching for all the .plist-Files, there aren´t any..

    I just un- und installed the Office, still same problem.

    But I realized, that <Enter> works..

    Come on, Microsoft, we can´t be the only two with this problem..

    And one more thing: Does the remote only work when the arrows are working?

    Because otherwise I would buy a remote and forget about the arrows..

    Is there another solution?

    Because the document you linked to doesn´t say anything about the keyboard-Problem..
