Change Background color Theme Office 2013

Has anyone come up with how to Change the Color on the Office 2013 Them from "gray".  Microsoft has really not been user friendly with Windows 8 or Office 2013 in enabling the user to change their environment.

I think Microsoft does not read these forum questions.  Otherwise, some of the technical people would be contacting their customers to gain feedback.

I am extremely disappointed in the Office 13 and Win8 programs. 

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Community. It is unfortunate that you are unable to locate the option in Office 2013 to change the theme of applications. Let me help you with the issue.

For the Office 2013 (RTM) version you may follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the File tab
  2. Click on Options
  3. Choose the General tab on the left
  4. Find the ‘O ffice Theme’ dropdown item
  5. Choose between White, Light Gray, and Dark Gray.

If you have Office 2013 preview version installed, then you have an option to change the background color by clicking on File, Options, General and under the group 'Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office', you may choose the background you wish to change to and click ok.

If you are using preview version of Office then you have a Smiley on the top right hand side of the application, you may click on it and send in your feedback.

    Kind of reminds me of my ISP service where British Telecom Customer & Technical Service have a language all of their own it's called "GIBBERISH"

    Now Microsoft have a similar language of their own called "TECHNICLAIUS GIBERISHAREIIUS" and have a new highly contagious  disease, only know to affect MS Staff  call "IGNORIUS USERARIUS" the suffer of this affliction is also known to be able to fluently speak two new language the fist "BULLSHITIUS BAFFULLIUS BAIRNIUS" with the second being "TECHNIUS REPAETIARIUS" or the constant irresistible urge copy and past useless, unrelated and unhelpful information that has noting to do with the complaint or problem.

    Would like to join my voice to all who suffer of the unpleasant results of office 2013 themes. Office 2013 are finally the only 'ugly' applications on Win7 or Win8. Really a pitty.

    Microsoft 'deaf attitude' towards users' requests is more and more frequent.

    WHERE DO THEY WANT TO GO TODAY?!

    It's been a downward spiral since MS removed menus (where everything could be found - and, VERY IMPORTANTLY, customised) with a load of tabs where things are place in illogical an inconsistent places, based on highly flawed research (basically they used feedback from all the non-power users and ignored all power uses who knew how to turn-off automatic reporting).

    Now we have an unbelieveable selection of "colors" (shades of white) and the tabs now SHOUT AT THE USER BECAUSE SOME DIMWIT DECIDED THAT CAPITALS WERE MORE APPROPRIATE THAN mixed case words. I know there is a bodgy work-around to most of the shouting, but this is soooooooo poor I am still struggling to believe feedback is being ignored time and time again.

    LibreOffice has never looked more attractive!

    Thank you for your response, I was able to find this on my own prior to this post. This is ridiculous that we cannot set our own color theme for the Office background. The 3 choices available are not enough. Office is giving me cataracts. I feel like I am living on the sun.
