Change Background color Theme Office 2013

Has anyone come up with how to Change the Color on the Office 2013 Them from "gray".  Microsoft has really not been user friendly with Windows 8 or Office 2013 in enabling the user to change their environment.

I think Microsoft does not read these forum questions.  Otherwise, some of the technical people would be contacting their customers to gain feedback.

I am extremely disappointed in the Office 13 and Win8 programs. 

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Community. It is unfortunate that you are unable to locate the option in Office 2013 to change the theme of applications. Let me help you with the issue.

For the Office 2013 (RTM) version you may follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the File tab
  2. Click on Options
  3. Choose the General tab on the left
  4. Find the ‘O ffice Theme’ dropdown item
  5. Choose between White, Light Gray, and Dark Gray.

If you have Office 2013 preview version installed, then you have an option to change the background color by clicking on File, Options, General and under the group 'Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office', you may choose the background you wish to change to and click ok.

If you are using preview version of Office then you have a Smiley on the top right hand side of the application, you may click on it and send in your feedback.

    Why don't you just say that MS is not going to do anything about this issue until it costs you money and reputation? Why do you insist on saying that the "options" you provided are suitable? Obviously, the designers of MSO365 do not have to use their applications. All you have to do is use one of your applications to realize that THEY ARE DISAGREEABLE and DIFFICULT TO READ; and the solution is to provide the clients with  satisfactory options. Most of us HAVE to use these programs because they were installed by our employers; we will soon ask them to make accommodations to be able to be productive and  work without getting sick. Then, your real clients will  come to you asking for solutions. If word gets out that your programs are bad for productivity or may increase health costs, you will not sell them. The fact is that you don't have to be a genius to understand what is happening. We are reporting a problem; the solution is to fix it!

    Does any feel like the new Office 2013 was build with Microsoft tablets in mind? I feel like its been dumbied down for some reason on purpose. Having worked in the software programming world and now the end user support industry, this makes no locgical sense from a programing end users view point. There is zero way they put this product in front of test user and this monochrome look was the over whelming winner of color choice. That's why I feel this was by design for a bigger reason.

    Bring back Bill Gates to run the joint. At least when he was around we did not have to live with these dumb colours and responses to customer concerns about software.

    The very simply fix is to allow the selection of background colours is to allow the colours from the theme you are using to be available in the background selection box.

    Having seen all these requests posted in the Microsoft community I thought someone from Microsoft might actually read them and respond with some solutions to the problems that their customers are experiencing.

    By the way responding is not cutting and pasting the same dumb response that does not even recognise the problem let alone provide a solution.

    Love the way companies now days have customer care departments. Seems to be a cover for "lets not care"
