Change Background color Theme Office 2013

Has anyone come up with how to Change the Color on the Office 2013 Them from "gray".  Microsoft has really not been user friendly with Windows 8 or Office 2013 in enabling the user to change their environment.

I think Microsoft does not read these forum questions.  Otherwise, some of the technical people would be contacting their customers to gain feedback.

I am extremely disappointed in the Office 13 and Win8 programs. 

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Community. It is unfortunate that you are unable to locate the option in Office 2013 to change the theme of applications. Let me help you with the issue.

For the Office 2013 (RTM) version you may follow the below steps:

  1. Go to the File tab
  2. Click on Options
  3. Choose the General tab on the left
  4. Find the ‘O ffice Theme’ dropdown item
  5. Choose between White, Light Gray, and Dark Gray.

If you have Office 2013 preview version installed, then you have an option to change the background color by clicking on File, Options, General and under the group 'Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office', you may choose the background you wish to change to and click ok.

If you are using preview version of Office then you have a Smiley on the top right hand side of the application, you may click on it and send in your feedback.

    Dear Deepa-bot, We value your inane repetition of a message devoid of all useful information or evidence that an actual live human has responded instead of a very limited algorithm. Obviously, we have not arrived at the uncanny valley here, nor is there any great likelihood of you passing a Turing test.

    We value Microsoft's total failure to acknowledge that a great many people have an active disgust with the available (non-)themes and the complete lack of any meaningful response, not even to tell us all that it'll be a cold day in **** before anything is actually done about it.

    We value your output in response to our input so much that we are looking with new eyes at Libre Office, Kingsoft Office, and many other 'wares that may meet some of all of our needs.

    The problem is not about not being able to leave feedback.

    The problem is Microsoft not taking action after reading our feedback.

    Microsoft staff confirms they are aware of that "pain point".

    Obviously, people on this forum already tried all options.   Some programmers even offered to collect money and try to hack the code to provide aftermarket skins.  If we go that deep in order to find a solution, I don't think it's worth suggesting a useless solution like "using a different windows theme" that obviously everybody tried already.

    It's been 15 months, and 1 service pack since initial release. Not to mention beta testers feedback.

    So we gave you 2 years to fix that major issue.

    In a small company, this change would have been done within 3 business days.

    Time for loyal customers to move on to something else... !

    Sad because there are no competitors that offers products as good as Outlook 2010 yet.

    People already chose to boycut Windows 8.  Microsoft losing tons of money, and is slowly getting forced to rollback few changes.  Hopefully same thing will happen with Office.  Otherwise other companies will fill the "hole" left by Office 2013 by providing GUI with darker themes and less wasted space between items.

    The office theme is much too bright because of its color option (only white and grey). Microsoft should allow user to personalize the color they want to look friend and make the office work run smoothly.

    After spending 10 mn on screen, my eyes are irritated because the color is not flexible.

    Microsoft should modified that as soon as possible.
