Change Background color Theme Office 2013

Has anyone come up with how to Change the Color on the Office 2013 Them from "gray". Microsoft has really not been user friendly with Windows 8 or Office 2013 in enabling the user to change their environment.

I think Microsoft does not read these forum questions. Otherwise, some of the technical people would be contacting their customers to gain feedback.

I am extremely disappointed in the Office 13 and Win8 programs.

Anyone got any ideas?

Hi,

Thanks for posting in Microsoft Community. It is unfortunate that you are unable to locate the option in Office 2013 to change the theme of applications. Let me help you with the issue.

For the Office 2013 (RTM) version you may follow the below steps:

Go to the File tab
Click on Options
Choose the General tab on the left
Find the ‘O ffice Theme’ dropdown item
Choose between White, Light Gray, and Dark Gray.

If you have Office 2013 preview version installed, then you have an option to change the background color by clicking on File, Options, General and under the group 'Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office', you may choose the background you wish to change to and click ok.

If you are using preview version of Office then you have a Smiley on the top right hand side of the application, you may click on it and send in your feedback.

I've chosen between White, Light Gray and Dark Gray, and the highlited window of Office looks almonst the same as before. If you are using Excel and you have a row and column cell selected, it's very difficult with those 3 only options to understand which one is selected. With Office 2007 (and before) was very easy to see which cell was selected and which Office window was highlighted...

I don't understand why all the other windows applications inherits the color scheme of Windows 8 but Office not. I hope somone will change this behavior to make a better version of Office.

There is simply NO EXCUSE for not providing us the ability to choose any set of colors we want!!! I used to do that with Openwindows on my Sun in the 90s, for goodness' sake. Light gray text on lighter gray background has to be the absolute worst for visual human factors, leading to eyestrain. In my openwindows I made my borders dark gray with darker accents, with a medium beige background and dark text. Much better on the eyes! And I could change the colors for different windows to signal myself as to what application I was working with. Office 2013 (and its IE counterpart) absolutely stinks.

The Windows 10 calendar app doesn't need activating. It's built into Windows 10. You need to connect it to the cloud calendar server (like the one at Outlook.com) that you want to use. It's in the settings.

This was not helpful - the point is that the user wants to select a colour other than white or gray. Are there other option? white and gray seem to cause me eye strain.

Additionally, how does one activate the calendar on screen page in windows 10.
