Does an Office 365 Home Premium subscription come with ad-free outlook.com e-mail, or would I still need to pay an additional $20/year?

    Exactly, and how do many of us avoid the apps? Just as Doug says, use Outlook desktop client. Or Thunderbird. Or Windows 10 Mail app. Or any number of email applications.

    If you don't like that option then purchase Outlook Premium.

    Otherwise Microsoft is going to display ads for an ad supported free service.

    You can leave Feedback via the feedback mechanism in the ? menu when logged into Outlook.com.

    The reply listed as 'Most Helpful' on this thread is the this one copied just below my comments.  The point is - we pay, we still get ads, and that hasn't changed through the whole time this thread has been running. It's a curious model, because normally the model is - You pay, you don't get ads OR you don't pay and you do get ads. This 'alternative' model seems to imply the company wants to win both ways. I would venture to suggest that this is a substantial source of discontent, especially when we all get the run-around, trying to get a straight answer to a straight question. Anyway, this 'Most helpful' post sums it up, and I hope it helps you understand my frustration -

    Apparently, due to the lack of a response addressing your question and the fact I have office365 and still get adds, the answer is no. You pay for Office365 and still get adds.

    The only way to address that is to leave Feedback for Microsoft to allow Office 365 Home users to have an ad free Outlook.com. Have you done that yet?

    I too subscribe to Office365 Home, but I avoid the ads as I have stated already.

    Answer : No

    Could have swore that it did, but no, no it doesnt. Sad really, my microsoft developer account cost me less for life than a year of not being advertised at in my outlook.com

    I use an adblocker now.

    Problem solved. And at the end of my subscription, Ive got auto renew off.

    Im not sure the rental thing is for me. I might leave Office 365 and go back to Office 2012, as that does all I need anyway.
