Does Office 365 Home Premium come with ad-free outlook.com e-mail?

I've had to answer this question for myself. Please forgive th salt in my last comments, but it stings like I said. But no, ad free outlook.com is not included with office 365. Its going to cost me another £15 a year.

I'm sure I'd previously seen adverts that said it was included. Sure of it.

Anyway, I'm still huming and haring about getting it. Anybody else think its worth it?

I use an iOS phone and tablet, and I use iCloud on my PC. For example, it's convenient for scheduling appointments and reminders from the PC (but the interface is crippled--e.g., you can't set travel time, and you can't set up a custom recurrence like the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, in iCloud for PC. I have to go to an iOSdevice to specify this). But it won't even let you see/send sms/mms/iMessage messages on your PC.

Another big reason for considering the switch is the fact that when I interviewed (unsuccessfully) for a SWDEV position at Google, everyone seemed to use Macs. Also, the underlying Unix nature of modern versions of MacOS would be very convenient; I get tired of the quirks/incompatibilities of Cygwin on Windows. 

So it's for a variety of reasons.

I just had a thought: there is an email provider that provides webmail and productivity / cloud apps for free without advertising: iCloud from Apple.

And doing a bit of joined up thinking myself: even though I think MS is OK to charge extra for ad-free outlook.com and they have a lot of smart people working for them... I don't think they thought through the behavioural perception of consumers and / or a competitive response to the iCloud proposition.

You don't need to switch to Mac, just get an Apple ID to use iCloud for free, with very little advertising! Save money and keep your PC.
