Unable to open Word 2013 Error: Word has stopped Working.

Original Title: $140 for ****!

I have purchased Office Home & Student 2013 and it installed perfectly fine. Yet, when I go to Word and try open a blank document out pops a box stating Microsoft Word has stopped working and I will be notified IF there is a fix. WTH! I cannot use the dang program. PLEASE help!!

    Why should Microsoft do that when it was an update to AbbyyFinereader that was required to overcome the problem.

    No software vendors application should break another software vendors application.

    Hi...removing the Fun Tools add-in fixes it for me too. Pesky Fun Tools was causing issues in Outlook too, removed it there and that's all good now :-)

    Abbyy Finereader is installed with most Epson Printers or Scanners.

    I had someone working on my computer.  They did a good job but not I cant not use my Microsoft office.  I had words 2013,excel, power point word.  when I click on it the error message come up saying something when wrong.  Please help me.

    Thanks Doug. Spent most of the day trying to get Word & Excell to work on my newly installed office programme on Windows 8.1. Have uninstalled AbbyFinereader and it works, just hope my old Epson Stylus printer didn't need Abby. Will leave testing that for another day.
