How to change the theme of Office 2013

don't buy office 2016.

there is no significant change as to color schemes. it still hurts your eyes after a while.

Evidently MS wants to impose this hurtful color schemes for reasons only they know. i'm still using office 2007 just because the pale blue is easier to work with for hours and my custom written programs i use for work have the same pale blue, but with that program i can use any combination i want to, i can't understand MS's obstination on this issue, but again they have the monopoly on office and impose what they like.

On behalf of all the smaller groups and 1000's of others that have complained (or attempted to) about the color options, PLEASE USE YOUR BUYING POWER TO AFFECT CHANGE!!  

Good Luck!!!   I just previewed the new Office 2016 and they haven't changed anything in terms of the Themes!!

Really hard to imagine a company so blatantly disregarding repeated and repeated and repeated customer feedback.  Again, Good luck!  You will need it.

I agree the new theme is not pretty.  I do not like the "Wordy" approach instead of more compact Icons representing those features - as a qualified Ergonomist, positional, icon and colour queues appear to have been abandoned in favour of a so-called "clean" theme which does not help users.  It also looks very stark and not polished.

Sorry Microsoft - thumbs down to the designers.

As an information designer, I'm totally with you, Phil. A recent Micro$oft update precipitated a Blue Screen of Death catastrophe & a "helpful" techie decided it was time to install Windows 10 on my PC, as everything else had to be re-installed anyway. Office 2013 (& I hear 2016, as well) & Win 10 have gone drastically backward as far as usability goes.

If I ran the Office & Windows GUI development teams, I'd fire them all, and anyone that had anything at all to do with approving or promoting this "clean" look. Not only that, but as I have repeatedly mentioned in this thread, I cannot understand the trend towards increasing the numbers of clicks to execute common functions. Instead of clicking, for instance, on a "blank page" icon in Word 2013 to get a new file, I now have to click File >New > Blank page. WHY?! So stupid.

If I want a new doc from one of my own templates, still another step. Sigh... 

DEAR MICROSOFT: There are more of us in the US over 40--ie, people who probably need reading glasses--than any other demographic. What is wrong with you?! 

Oh, well. I don't know why I bother. I just can't believe they pay NO ATTENTION WHATSOEVER to this thread or any other on the same theme. But they obviously do not.
