You can change the theme in Office by clicking File > Account page in any Office product with the exception of Outlook. In Outlook, Click File > Office Account to change the theme.

There are three themes available in Office 2013:

White - Default

Light Gray

Dark Gray

    Hi Kieth,

Sorry you are the guy getting these notes. but count me in as a user going back to the old office. I have been a user since 1978 and my old eyes can't see this new light theme people are using nowadays. Do you folks have any middle to older users betaing this prior to release? Hell I'm all for cute but come on this is getting ridiculous. Even ios has text you can read.

That's just stupid! Its 2015 and Microsoft is still living in a black-white-gray world?  Like the previous commentator, my eyes are getting old and all the white and grays begin to merge into painful blobs after a while.

Come on Microsoft, MAKE COLORS AN OPTION!!

Not read anything on this for a while, but as MS have now addressed this issue in Office 2016 I think we may as well give up on this thread.

I installed Office 2016 this morning, and the difference/improvement is remarkable... SO much better than it was on 2013.
