You can change the theme in Office by clicking File > Account page in any Office product with the exception of Outlook. In Outlook, Click File > Office Account to change the theme.

There are three themes available in Office 2013:

White - Default

Light Gray

Dark Gray

Great example of what works is this blog page! You have Blue/ white / gray and purple. althought there is not much color, it's not all gray. Yes, the icons on the ribbon have some color, but there are a lot of small lines, and much of them have gray and white. So several of them are also hard to focus on quickly.

Please understand this is just not a complaint, it is a real cause of a health issue, you provided us with something that worked, now we notice it's gone. I can't tell you how many times a day I have to pause many times to stop and read words under the icons because there is not enough color contrast to notice them.  This is time consuming and costing companies about 30 min. to hour a day, and that adds up when you have 6,000 employees and contractors.

    Thanks,

    Cindy

I can't imagine they couldn't offer some themes from pastels to bold and bright. I get sick of the monotony of NO COLOR.

I get migraines and these color options are not good. Each one makes my my eyes burn and my head ache. Please give us some better options, as I work for the government and they have deployed this to all of our computers. I have no choice but to look at this and get a daily migraine. Please fix this!!!

They're not adding anymore colour to the interface in the next iteration, in fact, they're adding only one more theme and that's dark grey. They're ignoring the masses of feedback they've received against the drastic interface change between 2010 and 2013. They don't care what you think, because their vision is Metro.
