How to change the theme of Office 2013

It is obvious Microsoft does not read these forum posts.

Once you buy, tough.

Failure to BETA test any software program in the real world is a flawed business model by MS.  The Office 2013 was designed by IT junkies for IT junkies and shows the love of Bells and Whistles.  This of course makes it difficult and less than useful by the general public who desires a bullet proof basic program with standardized classic options, menu's and views.  Designers think (wrongly) that bigger and more is better.

Having additional options in the advanced settings is OK.  But Office 2013 needs to also provide for a BASIC classic menu and operating function.  I started with 286, 386 and 486 machines.  The idea I must re-learn simple office tasks every 5 years is silly... the newer should always build upon the past applications.

This perversion of simple systems into complex systems defeats the primary role of computers to improve efficiency.  Nuff said... Wake-up MS... simplify where's the CLASSIC menu and views for Office 2013?

I haven't seen anyone but Microsoft raving about the color theme, maybe I haven't look hard enough.

Here is the bottom line:

Well know fact that eyes notice color/contrast better than gray on gray.  For those of us that have a work load of projects, reading, edit updates, copy and pasting to and from docs 10 hours a day, that gray ribbon on a gray back ground and then the text is black, also a form of gray, it just takes too long for the eye to focus on what we need.

If Microsoft would at least give us an update, an option to change the ribbon background to a few choice pale colors that would be a tremendous help.

I can tell you just 2 weeks of working those long hours is doing more damage to my eyes.

Please don't wait until the next version Microsoft. Have mercy on our eyes.

Thanks, and I will give Kudos to Microsoft as well, there are some very helpful changes to the new version of Office 2013, especially the Read Mode option in Word, and the drop down arrow to collapse a paragraph of text. Way to go on those new features.

I agree. If the change saves time, makes our tasks easier I can see the need for change. But if they change a background to black text and gray ribbon on gray back ground that is going backwards. sure it's ok to make a few adjustments for a cleaner look., but dont' make the customers damage their eyes for that cleaner look. Use a few pale contrasting colors.
