How to change the theme of Office 2013

Bang on the nose Chris... Its exactly what we want.

Perhaps they are adopting Henry Ford's model T philosophy "You can have any colour you like as long as its....... Gray or White"

I don't think Microsoft will listen for this one.

If you don't like it what will you do ?  Switch to apple ?

Even Apple does the same thing.  Have you seen the iPad IOS7 beta lately ?  The MAIL APP is identical to Microsoft Outlook 2013, in terms of whiteness, low contrast, and flatness of icons. 

I don't know who is copying the other one...  but looks like both Apple and Microsoft are on a "white trip".   Only Android still supports proper black / dark themes.

At least on the iPad I could do a triple-click to revert the colors.  I don't think Windows allows to reverse the colors of a given application easily.

On a positive note, I've tried the Office 2010 SP2 beta update, and it makes 2010 version perfectly usable, and very stable.   It makes the 2010 edition very comfortable to use until I find a good replacement for the Office suite.

And let's not even get into their decision to eliminate the autocorrect option for spelling errors. Jackasses.

It's laughable, but tragic, that the only response from anyone at Microsoft is that they are monitoring "pain points". This is the perfect description of what they are putting us through, yet they do nothing. The Office Team is clearly showing their utter contempt for customers when they post that they are not looking at releasing any new themes right now. People are rolling back to previous versions. Companies aren't "upgrading" because their staff hate the lack of themes. Companies are incurring the huge expense of rolling back to previous versions because their staff hate Office 2013. 

This has to be costing Microsoft millions of dollars. How can they sit back and do nothing? This is a crisis of credibility. Companies are actively searching for alternatives, like Google Docs. Microsoft is clearly making a lot of customers question their loyalty to them. The tone of posts has gone from frustration to anger, yet Microsoft just keeps fanning the flames with the same old arrogant response. Hard to believe any company in this economy can afford to insult its loyal customers this way.
