You can change the theme in Office by clicking File > Account page in any Office product with the exception of Outlook. In Outlook, Click File > Office Account to change the theme.

There are three themes available in Office 2013:

White - Default

Light Gray

Dark Gray

    I started getting a headache and watery eyes within about 60 seconds... and as I spend 90% of my day with Outlook, Word & Excel, there's no way I'm putting up with this...

    Bring back the Darker themes

    Eyestrain is very bad.  I use large screens, and the acres of bright white hurt. (Maybe sunglasses would help?)

    I can't distinguish inactive Office windows stacked on each other--I close the wrong ones daily.

    In the drop downs, I can't tell if the commands are active or not--they look the same to me.

    So far, Office 2013 has negatively affected my health and lowered my productivity.

    And the really sad thing, is that these complaints from everyone started in the beta, which was a loooong  time ago. And nothing has been done. Everyone I know complains about it.

    I'm thinking of not renewing my subscription and going back to Office 2010.

    Sigh. I suppose it's totally pointless me adding yet another protest to this enormous list about the AWFUL retina-searing white themes in Office 365. I have eyesight problems and this is causing me REAL, SERIOUS PROBLEMS. It is so bad, I wonder if, in fact, this is actionable under some kind of discrimination law. It is beyond ridiculous, beneath insulting and worse than useless. Historically, that however, seems to be a guarantee that Microsoft will ignore this problem.

    Just purchased and installed office 2013. holy ****, this is the ugliest version of WORD/EXCEL/OUTLOOK/POWPERPOINT/............................that I have ever seen! Did you see it? I purposely used CAPITAL here, as those used for the tabs now. Can anyone tell me who comes out this idea? This is only one of the many pains beside the boring color.

    While everything else on the world is getting better and better, I guess Office/Windows are exceptions. Really miss windows XP/office 2003. Are we really watching the sunset of MS?

    Anyway, I HAVE TO give OFFICE 2013 up after staring at it for 3 minutes, before I get mad enough to hammer my machine into pieces. I need to forget about the money I spent before MS fixes the problem.
