Download the MergeTools – 20120609 Add-in that I created from the following page of my Windows Live SkyDrive:

https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=5aedcb43615e886b#cid=5AEDCB43615E886B&id=5AEDCB43615E886B%21111

and also the Mail Merging with Charts document that is also on that page.  That document explains how you must set up the Excel Data Source and the Mail Merge Main document to be able to execute a merge with a Chart that is unique to each record in the data source.

Thank you for the quick response, you are right the Chart bookmark wasn't defined correctly.

However once I implemented the bookmark with a space I received an 5491 or 5941 error (can't remember exactly).

I then worked through your document and found that the chart bookmark needs to be on the table. So to solve this I implemented the bookmark on the table, which worked except that the chart out sized the table and rendered poorly.

The final fix came when I removed the bookmark from the table and selected the only table cell I had, and this allowed the chart enough space and the ability to re-size according to the table size I wanted.

Thanks again for this great tool!

You do not have the chart bookmark defined correctly in the mail merge main document.  You must have a space selected when you insert the bookmark so that, with the display of bookmarks turned on, it looks like:

    []

    and not like

    Hi Doug,

I have been using the MergeTools for sometime now and after a format I re-installed the MergeTools for my Office 2007.

Now suddenly I am getting a strange scenario whereby the charts that are copied and pasted into the merge document as it loops through the excel source, keeps on appending the charts from the previous copy.

E.g. the first document will have the first chart and the second document will have the first chart that was generated and the second one and so on.

I have reviewed the structure of the data, ranges and recreated my Chart bookmark; but can not figure it out.

Have you encountered such a problem before?

For a client, I created a customized version that inserted 22 different charts into the document that was created from each record in the data source.

Contact me by email with details of what you require and I will let you know what it would take to do it.
