The "edit wrap points" in Publisher 2013 don't seem to work. Is there a solution?

Other than cropping, I was able to use edit wrap points to edit pictures to get just a portion of the object.  How does this work in Publisher 2013?

Unless the freehand shape is an option, the function has not evolved well. **In previous versions, the portion of the image outside of the wrap points was not visible.**This is a function I use daily and will have to find an alternative now.

    Publisher no longer accepts the Edit wrap text.

    Easiest way to rid yourself of the picture backgrounds is to send the picture to a blank Word doc

    Then look for the Format button and click. This shows the delete background button on the ribbon far left

    Click that and either save or copy>paste to the Publisher document you are working on

    When is Microsoft going to do something about this?  This conversations seems to have been going on for two years!

    The edit wrap points capability has always been a great function in Publisher.  Easy to use, you could put any shape behind it and then create an image based on that shape filled with a design of your choice, or take an image and make it into whatever shape you wanted (not a predetermined shape).

    I just recently purchased new computer and downloaded Office Professional and now all of my designs have been changed when I open them. 

    This is unacceptable!!

    How is it that it should just destroythe pre-existing design because you opened it in the new version???

    No wonder so many companies are moving over to Adobe Creative Suite!  More employers ask for this skill now than Publisher.

    Heads UP Microsoft...it looks like you have some unhappy customers-I thought you were a much more responsive company.

    CHANGE it back to the way it was!

    This was driving me crazy...after two tries at online support then three tries with phone support...whereby they told me the only way to edit the shape was to use the pre-existing shapes they have provided in "crop to shape"...and that is just not the answer we all seem to be looking for...

    So-I just figured how to do this myself!

    Firstly you need to have the image saved on your system so you can use it to fill your shape. .jpg, .png, etc...

    In Publisher:

    Step 1    - Select Insert Shape from toolbar

    Step 2    - Select Scribble or Freeform tool

    Step 3    - Create or trace the shape you want the image to have

    Step 4    - Select the shape

    Step 5    - In Drawing Tools tab  drop down Shape Fill

    Step 6    - Select Pattern

    Step 7    - Select Picture or Texture fill

    Step 8    - Insert picture from...Select File

    Step 9    - Select your image file

    Step 10  - Select OK

    The image will fill the shape you want

    You can no longer select 'edit wrap points' from the toolbar - however if you right click on the image -- WALLAH this option appears.  You can now select the nodes and move them to the exact position that you want and your image will adjust to fill the space...

    WOO HOO!!!

    Now I just have to fix each design that I have used this on over the last two years, seeing as how Publisher sets them back to their original image shape once you open an old file and that's a pain...
