Error 1920. Service osppsvc failed to start

I obtained Microsoft Officew Professional Plus 2010 for home use via the Home Use Program. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. When I try loading Office I get the following error message:

Error 1920. Service 'Office Software Protection Platform' (osppsvc) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

I have administrator privileges on my computer. So I need help resolving this issue.

Open Run (Press Windows key + R) > type services.msc and click on OK

On the services MMC window right-click on Office Software Protection Platform and select Properties

Select the LOG ON tab > change the ‘Log on as’ information from ‘This Account’ (Network Service) to ‘Local System Account’

Click on Apply and OK

    As above question i have the same. So i have window XP that has Microsoft Office 2010 plus with an error 1920. I want solution that help me to find this problem, so then i need your help 

    suggest me the right steps how to do it and solve it. I'll waiting for your response ....

    Well its 10/11/2015...

    You want my take? The geniuses at MS, ( the better and superior race from 'over there'....) have put out an update.... now my customers using O2k10 with Outlook - have to enter a password everyday to get connected.... the obvious screw up by the superior race is that if in safe mode - start any office O2k10 app... and you get this loop with error 1920....

    Does MS ever F'UP???

    Well we are in such better hands now today aren't we.....

    IT 33 years.... seen it all...

    [SOLVED]

    For all of us that the first answer didn't solve the problem (cause finally the installation complains and rollback anyway) I have solved the problem with the "The2bagod" manner.

    Step 1:

    Go to Local Users and Groups: (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/7539-local-users-groups-manager-open.html)

    Step 2:

    Go to Groups and double click Admistrators

    Step 3:

    Click Add, click Advanced and click Find Now 

    Step 4:

    Double Click in Network Service (in the bottom list) and click Ok

    Final Step:

    Click Ok and try to Install the Office Suite again.

    It solved my problem and I'm sure it will solve yours.
