Error 1920. Service osppsvc failed to start

I obtained Microsoft Officew Professional Plus 2010 for home use via the Home Use Program. I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. When I try loading Office I get the following error message:

Error 1920. Service 'Office Software Protection Platform' (osppsvc) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.

I have administrator privileges on my computer. So I need help resolving this issue.

Open Run (Press Windows key + R) > type services.msc and click on OK

On the services MMC window right-click on Office Software Protection Platform and select Properties

Select the LOG ON tab > change the ‘Log on as’ information from ‘This Account’ (Network Service) to ‘Local System Account’

Click on Apply and OK

    Did you check the service?

    Office 2007 is working as it should? You could try that, but I am not

    sure if that makes a difference.

    I have Office 2007 on this computer. When I tried to load Office 2010, I received that message. I do not have any beta versions of Office. Should I uninstall office 2007 before I Install Office 2007?

    Did you uninstall all previous (beta) versions of Office?

    If you click Start and type

    services.msc

    <enter>

    Then look for the 'Office Software Protection Platform' service and

    try to start it manually. Any luck?

    If you perform a clean boot, does that make a difference?
