Word 2011 always opens with Final Showing Markup view

EVERY SINGLE TIME I open a document created with Mac Word 2011 I get the Final Showing Markup version.  I don't WANT to see all the changes.  But no matter how many times I try to save the document with Tracking set to Final and/or the Show Markup categories unchecked, it still opens the next time with all the stupid changes showing in red—Tracking set to Final Showing Markup and every Show Markup category checked.  (Tracking is turned OFF, so I can't even see why it's keeping that information.)

And there is no way in Preferences to set this, either.  Just "how do you want the changes to look?", not "do you even want to see the @#$% stupid changes in the first place?"  !!!!!!!!!!!

You've got to Accept or Reject All changes ... that's the only way they disappear.

Keep Tracked Changes turned off and if you do need to see "what's different" between two versions of the same document, investigate the Compare Document feature.

    Update:  

    After posting earlier comment and suggestions, I encountered more serious issues with Microsoft WORD on my MAC:  

    On several occasions, after using WORD for hours, WORD would FREEZE, and, PRIOR AUTOSAVES WOULD BE LOST!  

    This recurring problem was not solved by normal avenues, available via Google queries.  

    Therefore, I enrolled in Microsoft Answer Desk - Assure‪ via http://answerdesk.microsoftstore.com .  And, I purchased Office for Mac Home & Business 2011.  The Answer Desk provided live support (took remote control of my MAC) to:

       + Uninstalled prior version(s) of WORD on my PC

       + Installed Office for Mac Home & Business 2011

       + Diagnose and Repair the Root Cause of WORD FREEZE up and WORD AUTOSAVES LOST.

    (In my opinion, the root cause was multi-faceted:  (a) Other versions of WORD for MAC had software issues.  (b) The old and new versions of WORD on my MAC did not properly allocate a dedicated and large-enough autosave area in storage.) The above approach cost me about $400.   It's been 3 months since I took the above steps.  Since that time -- No issues.

    I am sure this is a correct answer, except you do not locate the menu item where Accept or Reject happens.  Doing Accept or Reject directly on the doc does not switch off MarkUp, so it must be a switch elsewhere?

    I solved this problem.

    1. Accept all the changes.
    2. Delete all the comments.
    3. Turn off track changes. 
    4. Save.
    5. Open.

    I guess problem happens from the any single "comments" remained in documents.

    After almost a year, I finally found a resolution that works on my mac!! I did all the accepting, properties checking, and my mac word version doesn't have that box to uncheck as people have recommended. 

    1. I opened my file, which automatically is done in "Final showing markup"
    2. I went through every comment that was still showing, and deleted it
    3. When I got to the last one, I got a message stating "No track changes are detected" and the view went automatically to the final version
    4. I saved it, closed it, and reopened, and TaDa!! It finally opened in the final view
