How do I change the color of Strikethrough without changing the color of the text?

Hello,

I have Word 2007. I want to achieve red Strikethrough upon normal black text.

I would be grateful to know how to do this, or if, as I suspect, it is not possible, then I would also be interested to know why Microsoft has not provided this quite obviously needed function.

Crossing something out electronically is a nonsense; period. That the facility is even made available is a questionable use of resources. If you really want to strikethrough in a colour other than the text colour, you must use fields (see http://wordfaqs.mvps.org/Overbar.htm) to overlay your text with struckthrough spaces, and format the spaces in whatever colour you want.

    Thank you for the care. So I have noticed, but it should. I used to use Nisus a long time ago, and it did (advanced apology if I have confused Nisus with another application that did).

    Stefan,  Happy New Year!   You have seen 🙂 and ☹️ at the top of the Word writing pane, right?  The problem is Microsoft's glacial responses, if ever, are usually for the next generation!  Nevertheless, I will, thank you. Nothing to lose.

    Strikethrough as part of Tracking Changes has been available in Word since the 1990's, at least.

    For the specific issue discussed here (choosing a strikethrough color which is different from the text color), you will have to post a suggestion in the Uservoice forum at http://word.uservoice.com.

    Word provides a way to cross things out "for review purposes." It just doesn't provide the facility to cross things out using a different color.
