I am using Office 2010 Professional with Windows 7. The installation was successful and I have no other issues with any Office programs except Excel 2010. Whenever I use the print preview button on the Quick Access Toolbar to check the print preview before printing, or use headers/footers to add these before printing, Excel crashes and forces a restart when I next go to save the document. It may allow me to do up to 3 print previews before I go to save the document and it crashes and attempts to recover the data or just shuts Excel down after a few times.
All other Office program functions work fine and I have checked my printer driver with a Microsoft utility and it reports no issues.
Can anyone help?

CutePrinter,
You are onto my sarcasm re Microsoft. This is a Microsoft board yet who is strangely silent and completely ineffective in solving their problem.....hhmmmmm, MIcrosoft! They think we are all stupid and will drink the coolaid and lie down and give up until they deign us worthy enough to make our mediocre lives worthwhile.
Well no, if they would only own up and take responsibility to fix their problem which is draining productivity, rather than enhancing productivity, as they claim in their advertising all of our little lives would be saved.
As other users suggest, open source may be the answer.
Remember the Ford Pinto? Users cant be wrong. Its not HP's problem, its Microsoft's to deliver a product that works. MS Office 2003 & 2007 worked fine across all software products on my hardware. After the hype of MS advertising extolling users to upgrade to MS2010 which has full ribbon functionality across products, is it unreasonable to expect MS to actually deliver a product that works? I think not.
MS, it sounds like many users expect to move forwards, not backwards Like Reagan said at the gate, Mr Gorbachov, tear down this wall. Microsoft, stop hiding, and fix your product! NOW!!.
Richard - Ubuntu and Open Office. :)
Did they really own up to the problem? I called Microsoft Hong Kong (which is where I live) since my computer and software are spanking new, I'm under warranty. At least they don't ask me for money here as some of you have mentioned. When I explained the issue to them, they told me that I should call HP since it's HP's printer crashing Excel. When I told them that it doesn't happen with any other programs, even Microsoft Word, Outlook or Powerpoint, it suggested to me that it's actually a problem with Excel, they told me that I should call HP because it's their problem. I went to say that can you please at least escalate this to somebody in the US because I'm sure the 2 computing giants like Microsoft and HP would want to work something out for users like us, the person just told me to call HP. My last effort was to tell them that I really don't need them to solve my problem, just please let somebody know that there's a problem. The response was since I've worked out a work around, then I have no problem and if I still see it as a problem, please call HP. I actually have not called HP. Maybe I'm just stubborn but to me, it's an Excel problem and it's on Microsoft to solve it.
Bill, maybe you can explain to someone why the users think it's an Excel problem rather than a HP problem? We can't all be completely wrong.
Thank you.

Bill,
Thank you for finally getting Microsoft to own up and admit its software is flawed. What they should do is immediately commit adequate resources to fix it not just give us a lame excuse that they will get around to fixing it in the SP2 or next version. Their software is touted as "office productivity" and they are proud of their market dominant position. Well if their customer service attitude is so cavalier about their shitty software then I think we should leave them in droves for open source alternatives and let them go down in flames.
Their response and attitude is just plain unacceptable.
