microsoft word starter 2010 won't open

I was just using it, then I went to re-open for my daughter and a box appears saying microsoft word starter cannot be opened. Try again or repair the product in control panel. Well i went to control panel under programs chose the program and clicked change, it still didnt work. Does anyone know whats going on? and or how i can get it to work?

This just happened to me.

Basically:

  1. open the control panel
  2. choose programs & features
  3. right click on Microsoft Office Starter edition
  4. select change
  5. Say "yes" to repairing the app.

    I have just purchased a brand new laptop and only had it one day.  The same issue is happening to me.  I cannot open word or excel.  I have been through all the processes described above for rectifying the problem and not one of them has worked, so what is the answer please Microsoft.  I cannot even open any word documents now either.  Its driving me nuts.....

    I just purchased a new laptop as well and experiencing the same problem, however when I go to the control panel to repair the issue and click on the change option I am not presented with the repair option as previously mentioned is available. I am relieved to see that it is not only me having this issue since this is a new computer but it is incredibly frustrating and a complete waste of time.  Good luck resolving your issue and if you do please advise the rest of us on what is the right course of action to correct the problem.  Thanks. M
