microsoft word starter 2010 won't open

I was just using it, then I went to re-open for my daughter and a box appears saying microsoft word starter cannot be opened. Try again or repair the product in control panel. Well i went to control panel under programs chose the program and clicked change, it still didnt work. Does anyone know whats going on? and or how i can get it to work?

This just happened to me.

Basically:

  1. open the control panel
  2. choose programs & features
  3. right click on Microsoft Office Starter edition
  4. select change
  5. Say "yes" to repairing the app.

    I am having the same "you aren't connected to the internet" issue with repairing Wordstarter 2010. Interesting - three of us in the past few days having the same nonsensical issue. Wonder if some windows update screwed it over for many people?  Typical MS.

    I tried this and it states I need to be connected to the internet, which I clearly am if I am reading this help section and replying to it. Does anyone know how to get this working again?

    I've tried this a few times and when I click yes to repairing the app I get the message "Repairing Microsoft Office starter 2010 was unsuccessful  because an Internet connection is required. Ensure your computer can access the Internet and try again". I am definitely connected to the internet so what do I do now?
