microsoft word starter 2010 won't open

I was just using it, then I went to re-open for my daughter and a box appears saying microsoft word starter cannot be opened. Try again or repair the product in control panel. Well i went to control panel under programs chose the program and clicked change, it still didnt work. Does anyone know whats going on? and or how i can get it to work?

This just happened to me.

Basically:

  1. open the control panel
  2. choose programs & features
  3. right click on Microsoft Office Starter edition
  4. select change
  5. Say "yes" to repairing the app.

    So what do you do after step 5. When a message pops up saying there needs to be an internet connection in order to repair, yet I have internet connection?

    Thank-you do much it worked perfectly.

    As your reply is over 4 years old one would have thought that Microsoft would have resolved this issue but clearly customer problems are not important to them.

    The problem appeared after the 11/14/15 update, the ver. 1511 update...

    I am having the same issues. Won't start and message saying not connected to internet. What is the solution?

    Is this an Office Update you are referring to or something else? When I check for previous versions of Office it tells me I have none, plus I don't remember updating Office at all in the past few months. I don't have my updates set to automatic, so I have to give permission for them to DL.
