Office Keeps Re-Installing When I Try To Open Word, Excel...etc.

Everytime  I try to open office 2007, it keeps re-installing the software and takes a good while before it opens. 

This happens for all programs in the suite; excel, word...etc.  I am using Vista, can anyone please help?

Download, install and run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility:

    Its a Acer Aspire 5520-5147 4Gb.  Office has worked on here before.  Initially installed as Windows Vista home, Office 2003.  Tried to upgrade it to Vista Ultimate and Office 2007.  Person doing that upgrade gave up on wireless and ethernet drivers.  Reloaded image from before upgrade (Vista hame/Office 2003) and performed Office 2007 inplace upgrade.  Has not worked since.  Exactly 1 year ago.

    Keeping the history of the computer in mind, I would recommend you to completely remove office 2007 manually and reinstall it.

    Ensure that you have the Installation Disk for Office 2007 and Product Key for the same.

    Dear Mithun

    I have the same problem with Office 2007 (Student & Home).  I used the MS clean-up utility for both 2003 and 2007 versions of Office just to be sure. I also tried the repair function, to no avail. My OS is XP Home sp3.

    I tried your suggested fix:

    reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0*word*\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1.

    This worked for Word, but when I tried it with Excel (reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0*Excel*\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1.) The problem persists. Is this an incorrect registry entry?
