Office Keeps Re-Installing When I Try To Open Word, Excel...etc.

Everytime  I try to open office 2007, it keeps re-installing the software and takes a good while before it opens. 

This happens for all programs in the suite; excel, word...etc.  I am using Vista, can anyone please help?

Download, install and run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility:

    I have windows 7 64 bit and office 2007 home and student installed, and have tried everything here and on other web sites but no matter what I try when ever I run an office app I get preparing to install and then wait whilst configuring which is taking ages. If I'm unable to cure it soon I thing I will throw office in the bin and install OpenOffice at least that works

    Are you running two versions of Office on the same machine, by any chance? In that case, see the "Hacking the Registry" section of the article at http://www.gmayor.com/Toolbars_in_word_2007.htm.

    OK. Have you tried starting setup from Control Panel and see if that lets the configuration process to complete properly?

    If that doesn't help, try creating a new user account and see if Word works properly on that account.
