Office Keeps Re-Installing When I Try To Open Word, Excel...etc.

Everytime I try to open office 2007, it keeps re-installing the software and takes a good while before it opens.

This happens for all programs in the suite; excel, word...etc. I am using Vista, can anyone please help?

Download, install and run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility:

Follow the manual method in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2528748 but as you are using Office 2007, you will have to change the command to:

reg add HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Word\Options /v NoReReg /t REG_DWORD /d 1

I have the problem with MS 7 and office 7. Don't have Vista. What was your solution?

Someone posted a quick fix that worked.

Open the program directly from the folder (not from the start menu). That works. I then made a shortcut from the directory and put it on the taskbar. Problem solved.

How did you fix the problem? I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times, and I still have no fix. PS, I am using Win7.
