Office Keeps Re-Installing When I Try To Open Word, Excel...etc.

Wow, I certinally though someone would have found and fixed this problem by now. I've been putting up with it for 6 months now.  The problem somehow is connected to the hidden "run as Administrator" functionality.  I found that even having administrator level authority is not the same as a true administrator login.  My adobe flash is also broken, along with sycronization to windows mobile calendar and contacts.  There is also a process that is contained in Visual Studio 2005, in one of my C++ projects that requires an office dependancy that fires off the reinstall.

Somewhere I read that if you uninstall office 2007 and 2003, do the MSI cleanup tool, install office while logged in as "Administrator", you could fix the problem.  NOT...  Any help would save this laptop from certin death.

PS I am running Windows Vista Home Premium SP2 & Microsoft Office Utimate 2007 SP2.

inula2k, well i have tried several ideas and i really thought yours sounded like i had a chance but to no avail it did not. it still does as it did when i first installed it. this is so very frustrating i am tempted to throw this new system to the dogs and use the old computer just to do all of my word work. i have several hundred folders and sub folders that were all created using mic word and it takes way to much time to wait on a folder or sub folder to open when you are creating or updating 50 or 60 daily. i am truly willing to try any other ideas that may help cure the problem. thanks for the help so far........clay

                 I had the same problem, the way I solved it is as follows, uninstall office 2007, then go into my computer, C:/ Drive

programmes and delete any thing in the office or microsoft office folder, also in the microsoft shared folder remove anything of office12 or office 10 or any file like this,leave the rest alone this removed all traces of my office 2003 install. I then installed CCleaner (this is a small free programme that cleans out the system,google it and install it) I ran this to clean the system and the registry and rebooted. I then installed office2007 successfully and lived happy ever after! I hope you can follow this if not email me again.

i installed office 2007 student last night and everything i open has to install first. it gets the required info and resets the desktop icons and opens a few seconds later.    clay291

i tried the windows download for cleaning the installation remains but that didnt do anything for me.
