I want to flip text to a mirror image to print on fabric transfer paper.

I am trying to "mirror image" text in Word 2007 so I can print on fabric transfer paper. HP printer does not have this option, can it be done on a Word document?

This didn't work for me (Word 2010, Win 7, 64 bit) but this does;

Enter Word art text as you wish, then

select the text you wish to rotate
the Drawing Tools, Format ribbon will show;

on this ribbon go to Wordart styles and left-click on "text effects"

this brings up a sub-menu, hover over "3d rotation" and left click on "3D rotation options"
select "X" and set it to "180"

-left-click "close" to action this on the selected text.

It's just a shame the "flip horizontal' command doesn't work on the text, just the bounding box...

After attempting over 2 hours to do a mirror image following the instructions from "You Tube", "avery.com", and articles from googling what I wanted to do, I came across your article. Thank you so very much. After I tweeked it , I was able to do a mirror image. My "tweeks" included the following:

Inserted Text Box (draw)

Formatted font (size, color, & style)

Under Drawing Tool>Format>I chose Shape Effects

Rolled over 3D Rotation to 3D Rotation Options (left clicked)

Choose "X" and changed to 180°

Left Click Fill & chose "No Fill" then clicked "OK"

When I did not go to the "Fill" menu, the background of my text would be grey.

Hi,

Mirror image of the content can be obtained using the following steps.

Insert a WordArt and type in the content.
Now click on the WordArt.
Go to the “Format” tab under the contextual menu “WordArt Tools”.
Click the “Rotate à Flip Horizontal” option under “Arrange” section.

Hi, it is a lot simpler to create your design in any software (Word, Publisher etc...) and use the software your printer comes with, in the printing options you can just tick the "mirror image" option.

I had a stroke, trying to mirror image text so I can stick a sign on the inside of the front door was frustrating. "Help" was totally no help at all.

So if you have Paint, write your text in there, you can then mirror it, save it, open it in windows, or send straight to the printer.

Before you start, read the Warning at the bottom, in case you get stuck

Paint -

In Tools- Select Text (has the letter 'A')

A box will open - choose the size of lettering and style eg Arial 22, changing the box size to accommodate the size.

Write your Lettering

In Image - Select Rotate

Click on - Flip Horizontal, (mines at the bottom of the column)

= Letters will be reversed

Save it, open it in MS Word, or you can send it straight to the printer

If you need to have both regular and mirrored words, you need to rewrite the words in your chosen position after you Flip, or all letters/words will reverse.

WARNING. If at any time the box disappears, you cannot change the lettering/style size, though you can flip it. Why they've done that have no idea. You'll have to click on text again and make another box

Hope that's easier than what I've read. Funny, not all 2007 have the same ribbon. Why? hmm
