Mouse right click no longer working in excel

In any spreadsheet now the right click no longer opens the menu.  I can't copy and paste, edit or anything else.  The mouse works in word and other applications, and in fact works in the header or menus of excel.  But if I got to a cell, it will not open upon right click.

Try this:

From your worksheet, press Alt + F11.   careful, that's ALT + F11

Next press Ctrl+G

Type in (or copy here and paste)

Application.CommandBars("Cell").Reset

Then press the Enter key.

Press Alt+Q to return to the worksheet.

Click your right mouse button on any worksheet cell.   Does your right click menu appear now?

I think the sheet may be password protected.

Check in sample new file, if it happens the same.

    Go to options>>Add-Ins>Manage-(option-Excell Add-Ins)>Go

    Uncheck the checked items and click OK. It should work.

    Exactly what I needed... Someone created a macro in a workbook I opened that was meant to limit format editing, but as a consequence, disabled many of my command bars. The sheet is now fixed by including: application.CommandBars("Cell").Reset and application.CommandBars("cell").Enabled = True in a macro that closes out the workbook. Thanks HerrrGG

    I have a few users experiencing this issue with Essbase installed.   Sounds like a common issue.  Wonder if Essbase will issue a fix?

    I found my particular problem: navigating to essbase > options > global, I discovered that I had somehow selected "enable secondary button" under Mouse Actions.  Deselecting this option solved it.  My right button on the mouse works correctly now.

    Don't know where you got the fix from but I read your solution and applied it on my users and it worked right away.

    Left them with a big smile on their face ! Didn't know a simple right click function restore would be a cause of happiness...don't need much huh!
