Transfer license to a new computer

Hello all,

I just purchased a new computer and want to transfer my Microsoft Office license to the new computer. How do I do that? Can someone send me step-by-step instructions?

The activation process keeps track of number of times you have used a product key. If this is your 4th installation you may get message saying you can't use this product key. Make sure you uninstall from one of the other machines. If it won't allow you to activate, you will have to do a phone activation and tell the service rep that you have uninstalled from one of the previous machines.

    Why are you posting/tagging on to a very old thread which because of the change in the way Microsoft Office is deployed has change dramatically.  Also why have you tagged on to  a thread which you have not fully read.  Rohn and other on this forum try  their best to assist people with problems relating to Microsoft software pro bono and can do without pointless posts.

    I am trying to use my work Microsoft Office account but it keeps asking me for a product key we don't use keys anymore so what do I do? Should I uninstall it then reinstall it and try using the same process again?
