Transfer license to a new computer

Hello all,

I just purchased a new computer and want to transfer my Microsoft Office license to the new computer. How do I do that? Can someone send me step-by-step instructions?

The activation process keeps track of number of times you have used a product key. If this is your 4th installation you may get message saying you can't use this product key. Make sure you uninstall from one of the other machines. If it won't allow you to activate, you will have to do a phone activation and tell the service rep that you have uninstalled from one of the previous machines.

    Right now you have Office in "limited function mode". That is what happens after a free trail expires.

    What you have to do is "activate" it on the new computer.

    To activate office on a computer you need the 25 character Office product key.

    Whether you can do that, and exactly how depends on the specific Office bundle you have and how you bought it.

    You tell us what you have, we will (try to) tell you if it is possible and how.
