I have found how to recreate this problem. Knowing how to recreate it may help bug fixers, and will definately make it easier to work around the issue.
- Open Excel
- Put in Page Layout Mode and Landscape mode (Landscape mode has nothing to do with the issue, it just makes it easier to demonstrate the problem)
- If you'll notice, in page layout mode, Excel displays pages in rows and columns in the Excel Window. Adjust the window so that the very top of the 2nd row of pages is shown in the Excel window. (You can do this with a maximized window by adjusting the
zoom, or with an adjustable window just by adjusting the size of the window. (If you see "Click to add data" on the second row of pages, you have too much of the 2nd row of pages showing showing, and it won't "work".
- Click on any cell in the first row of pages, except any cells in the last row. It should select multiple cells. It *seems* that the less you have exposed of the second row of pages, the more cells it selects, and it *seems* that maybe the bottom of the
header field is the cut off for when it won't happen.
To recap, when Excel displays the very top of pages in the Excel window, multiple cells are selected with a single mouse click on any cells clicked except those in the last row of the page. Hopefully I have explained this clearly.
